MultiVersus Fans Shocked By New Character Appearance

Tier 5 is the characters who really shouldn’t be played either due to their moveset or the fact that they have bigger problems right now. If you were hoping Taz is still a menace, unfortunately, his recent nerf has dropped his power down quite a bit. This Looney Tunes character is a Bruiser archetype character for a reason – he can barrel through enemies with ease and hit hard both up close and from a distance. He can also turn enemies into cooked chicken with his Bottomless Pit Passive Ability, which also allows him to heal.

MultiVersus features many ways to play, but the primary focus is onfast-paced, 2v2battles. The result is that characters and combos were created with this in mind, and doubles battles are truly amazing. That being said, MultiVersus handles 1v1 matches and free-for-alls quite well, and they feel equally as rounded out as 2v2.

While it would be great for this to be some kind of promotional tease for the character, it's most likely the product of players hacking the title, like dataminer LusiaMV did. Of course, after making Rick playable and posting the footage, LusiaMV's Twitter account was suspended. Similarly, plenty of videos have popped up on YouTube showing leaked gameplay of Rick, and there will likely be more before he finally joins the game for good.

We know you expected Batman to be a top-tier character in MultiVersus, but The Dark Knight is really really strong right now. This is down to his high mobility gained from his Bat-Grapple, which can be spammed and repeated. Let’s start off by talking a little bit about the best of the best – right now, anyway. Alright, without further ado, here’s what our take on a MultiVersus tier list is looking like right now. Characters from DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, and Cartoon Network are confirmed to be in the game. This includes Batman and Superman, Shaggy and Velma, and Garnet and Steven Universe.

If you want to start smashing in MultiVersus early, though, the open beta begins on July 26. During the alpha test, we were extremely pleased with just how well the game played when we got our hands on it. The most exciting aspects are the ways the game differs from its obvious inspirations, such as the previously mentioned classes and characters having moves that are designed specifically to be used to support teammates. Other confirmed MultiVersus gameplay modes include 1v1 battles and 4-player 'free for alls'. Those special attacks do provide some incredibly valuable perks like damaging enemies repeatedly and electrifying them. But, when comparing those attacks with the raw strength you get from other characters, Reindog, definitely doesn’t meet the mark right now.

Despite how much we’ve seen, and even played, of MultiVersus, this is the first official gameplay trailer for the game. In it, we see some of the crazy character combinations possible in this crossover fighter and hear some unique dialogue for each combination of ally and opponent. For those who want to play before everyone else during the early access period, you'll automatically be invited if you were part of the closed alpha which took place previously. If you didn't but still want a shot at some early brawls, you can perhaps score access through Twitch Drops.

The release date for when Rick and Morty will start to come out in MultiVersus has been delayed but some skins have leaked with multiverse beta gameplay gameplay animations. Fans can also take solace in the fact that WB Games seems to be starting its full marketing campaign for the game in earnest, so there's a chance that the game will be released in the first part of 2022. The bigger question here is how much content in MultiVersus isn’t multiplayer. We already stated that the game is designed for 2v2, but also allows 1v1 and four-player free for all, but no specific modes outside of the standard have been shown. We do know there will at least be ranked playlists for those looking to take the game more seriously, but for the moment, that’s all we know.
